LA County Sees Spike In Coronavirus Instances This Weekend – CBS Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Southern California sees an increase in COVID-19 cases. In Los Angeles County alone, 3,061 new cases were reported on Sunday.

Nationwide, infections are on average more than 140,000 per day, which corresponds to a jump of more than 75 percent since Halloween. On Saturday, LA County reported the highest number of cases since July, with more than 3,700 new COVID-19 cases and 20 new deaths.

Of the new cases on Sunday, three deaths were reported. Currently, 27 percent of the people hospitalized in the district due to COVID-19 are said to be in intensive care units.

To date, 339,560 cases have been reported in the county.
