Hearth Guts Business Constructing In South LA – CBS Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Firefighters quickly contained a fire that broke through a commercial building in southern Los Angeles early Tuesday morning.

The fire started just before 5 a.m. in a one-story building on the 11600 block of South Main Street.

The LA Fire Department crews responded and found flames and black smoke in the 50 by 50 foot building. The roof collapsed during the firefight.

It took 22 minutes to get the flames under control. Nobody was hurt. It is unclear what stores the building contained.

The building was the site of an earlier fire, the fire department said. There were no immediate details about this fire.

The cause is being investigated.
