LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – A shower finally hit Southern California, breaking Downtown LA’s record for the longest stretch of days of warm weather.
A cold system from Canada brought rain, snow, strong winds and cold temperatures to the region on Saturday.
The high on Saturday was just 62 degrees, the first in 200 days that the high in downtown LA did not reach 70 degrees or more, according to the National Weather Service. The 200-day series breaks the old record of 1885 by 10 days.

Downtown LA also received just over an inch of rain on Saturday, breaking the 172-day series with no measurable rainfall, the National Weather Service said. The 172-day series is the seventh longest in recording history. The longest series of days with no measurable precipitation was set at 219 days in 1997.
